Viacom’s MTV said it would launch a cooking competition program, a new family drama and three other new series as part of its coming programming slate.
In “Snack Off,” which debuts July 10, a group of amateur chefs battle in a competition that calls for recipes that use mundane munchies. Eddie Huang hosts the half-hour show, which will give the winners a cash prize and the inclusion of their recipe in a cookbook. A panel of judges includes supermodel Chrissy Teigen, master chef Jason Quinn and comedian Yassir Lester.
The drama, “Finding Carter,” debuts July 8 and tells the story of Carter, a teenage girl who discovers the woman she believes to be her biological mother abducted her as a toddler.
