NEW YORK (PIX11) – In a bombshell revelation, the former Port Authority official who ordered the closure of lanes on the George Washington Bridge now claims that Governor Christie was aware of the plan to intentionally create crippling traffic, the New York Times is reporting.

David Wildstein, a Christie appointee who also attended high school with the governor, has said through his attorney that he has evidence proving not only that the Christie administration ordered the closures, but that Christie himself knew of the plan.

The Christie administration responded with statement reasserting that he had “absolutely no prior knowledge of the lane closures” and claimed he was telling the truth at two separate press conferences when he similarly denied any involvement.

According to the statement, Christie “had no indication that this was anything other than a traffic study until he read otherwise the morning of January 8th.”
