‘Hidden Cash’ Twitter giveaway coming to NYC

FORT GREENE, Brooklyn (PIX11) — From hockey to hip hop, there’s been a longstanding rivalry between the East and West Coasts. But when it comes to giving out money for free, a West Coast philanthropist who’s become a Twitter phenomenon is embracing New York City with open arms.

“That’s great!” Brooklyn resident Rafael Deleon told PIX11 News. “I’d like to find this free cash. Where can I get it?”

He was asking about hidden cash drop offs, and the answer to his question lies in posts on twitter by @hiddencash.

There, the once anonymous person attached to the account tweets photos, descriptions and other clues about where his envelopes of cash can be found in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Between $10,000 and $15,000 has been given out so far, but the cash giveaway program is now expanding, after about a month of operation.
